About

Daniela Maria Gargiulo
Daniela Maria Gargiulo
is a British artist, born in the Black Country, now living and working in Bexhill-on-Sea.

Her intricately cut collages are made from painted paper, inspired by her journeys through the local landscape. Daniela documents her daily walks at dawn down suburban streets, twilight bike rides along the coastal path, and day trips by train further afield. She is fascinated by the changing light by the coast, the elemental drama of windswept wild grasses, the supernatural effect of street lights on mundane buildings and by faded seaside grandeur. Her work focuses on the built environment, energised terrain, and the small detail of the space between the urban and the wild.

In works constructed with close attention to colour and detail, Daniela invites you to enter her environment and look more closely at our everyday world.
