Daniela Maria Gargiulo is a British artist, born in the Black Country, now living and working in Lancing, West Sussex.
Her intricately cut collages are made from painted paper, inspired by her journeys through the local landscape. Daniela documents her daily walks at dawn down suburban streets, twilight bike rides along the coastal path to Shoreham and Worthing, and day trips by train further afield. She is fascinated by the continually changing light at Widewater Lagoon, the elemental drama of windswept wild grasses, the supernatural effect of street lights on mundane buildings, and by faded seaside grandeur. In works constructed with close attention to colour and detail, Daniela invites you to enter her environment and look more closely at our everyday world.
